Bethany Christian Services Announces Bill Blacquiere as Interim Chief Executive Officer

Bethany Christian Services is pleased to announce Bill Blacquiere has been named interim Chief Executive Officer. Current president and CEO, Chris Palusky, will depart from the organization at the end of August 2022 when he will return to international humanitarian work. Blacquiere previously served Bethany for 35 years, his last 12 years as the head of the organization until his retirement in 2018. Bethany’s Board of Directors, led by Mark Augustyn, will work closely with CarterBaldwin Executive Search to find the next Chief Executive Officer.

Bethany Christian Services today released the following statement as they are no longer able to provide safe, temporary care for unaccompanied children in Florida due to Governor Ron DeSantis’s emergency rule blocking the issuance and renewal of state licenses for Florida-based organizations. While Bethany’s short-term foster care program in the state will no longer be serving children, the organization will continue strengthening and preserving families through their Safe Families for Children program, trafficking victim assistance programs, refugee resettlement program, adoption and pregnancy counseling services, and home study, post-release, and wraparound support services.
