"They're like my family now."
A foster family welcomes Amir, a refugee youth
Amir left Afghanistan because his life was in danger. He lived in a refugee camp for more than two years before being welcomed to the United States as a refugee. With the support of his foster family, Amir is hopeful for the future. Refugees resettling in the U.S. have experienced a difficult journey. When you become a foster parent, you'll help a refugee child feel safe, loved, and connected as they navigate life in a new place.
