When José fled violence in South America, he knew education was his path forward in the U.S.

With the support of his foster mom, he graduated from high school, studied criminal justice in college, and is pursuing a career in law enforcement. José describes what family looks like for him, including those “who are complete strangers to you who just welcome you at their home.”
