Finding light in the darkness

Life in Ghana was never easy for Gifty. She worked hard, despite her disability and the discrimination she faced. When her partner died, she was left alone to care for her two boys who required medical attention she couldn’t afford. Gifty and her children were soon evicted from their home.

Because of the discrimination she faced, she couldn’t find housing or work. But through Bethany’s family preservation and empowerment, Gifty had the resources to care for her children and meet her family’s basic needs. She was connected to a church family who loved her and gave her the support we all need to get through hard times.
