Traverse City Native Leads the Charge for Positive Impact for Local Families

Traverse City, Mich., May 2018 – Bethany Christian Services, a global nonprofit committed to bringing and keeping families together, has announced Chelsea Hill as the new branch director for the organization’s Traverse City, Mich. office. Hill has been with the organization for almost seven years.

Once she began as a foster care adoption specialist, Hill knew she had an opportunity to make a real impact on children and families in her hometown. Throughout her time at Bethany, she has held numerous positions, including foster care and adoption supervisor, child welfare program manager, domestic infant adoption specialist and international adoption specialist. Her experience in these rolls allowed her to recognize that there is a need for more community involvement and social services in Traverse City.

“My focus in this new position will be to improve the way Bethany is involved in the community,” said Hill. “I have a deep love for Traverse City and Northern Michigan, not only because of the beauty, but also for the incredible people. Once our community is fully aware of the impact they can make on vulnerable children, I believe we can make some real change.”

Hill is thrilled that her first month on the job is during National Foster Care Month. She believes that this month is special, since it is a time set aside to spread awareness about foster care and the crisis our country is currently in. The month is a time to address both the issues and joys associated with foster care and shed light on the positive progress, but work that still needs to be done.

The Traverse City Bethany branch offers a wide variety of programs to local children and families. Programs include foster home licensing, foster care, foster care adoption, domestic infant adoption, international adoption, refugee foster care, refugee resettlement, pregnancy counseling, Post Adoption Resource Center and Safe Families for Children.
