As you may know, there is a crisis at the border. The need for foster parents is greater than ever!
Brave children are making the journey every day to flee from violence, poverty, and neglect in their home countries. The average stay for children in your home is around 14-60 days. However, it could take anywhere from 30-90+ days. The children are reunited with a sponsor (family member, family friend) in the United States; the goal is always reunification.
Bethany Christian Services has recently begun offering Transitional Foster Care (TFC) out of our Charlotte office. Transitional Foster Care families must meet the same licensing standards and requirements as domestic foster care in the state of North Carolina. This is a 30-hour training course, with some additional hours of training for this population. It will take approximately 90 days to be licensed as a TFC family. Currently, we can license families who are in Charlotte and within 1 hour distance.
