Volunteer groups are needed to support our refugee families after they arrive in the U.S.!
This is typically a group of around 6-10 people (this number is flexible depending on the level of commitment the group thinks they have from the individuals) who support a refugee family for 6-8 months after they arrive and help promote their self-sufficiency and integration into the U.S. through a variety of ways including:
• Welcoming them at the airport
• Transportation assistance
• Gathering needed material items
• English tutoring
• Being a community guide
If you are interested in supporting our refugee resettlement program in this way, here are a few important requirements to get started:
*Must be 21 years or older
*Have daytime availability for transport requests (not required of every group member)
*Complete an application, background screenings, and a group orientation
