Helping women prepare to parent and live independently

What is the Genesis program?

The future can feel overwhelming for women facing an unexpected pregnancy. Our global Genesis program — currently offered in Ethiopia and Colombia — supports pregnant women and prevents family separation.

We offer individual and group counseling, life skills and parenting courses, access to education and financial support, and connection to community partners.

Where do we offer the Genesis program?

Ethiopia:

We provide support to new and expecting mothers equipping them with parenting skills and resources so they can provide a safe, loving home for their children.

Colombia:

We serve migrant and refugee women — including those who are pregnant and those who are breastfeeding, providing access to basic needs, workshops, support groups, and referral services.

Bethany’s services focus on the best interest of the child and the family. That can mean promoting breastfeeding where we are present around the world.

Engaged fathers lead to stronger families

While working with families enrolled in our family preservation program, Bethany’s Ethiopia team recognized that inviting fathers to become more engaged with their children would lead to stronger families.
